Intellectual property department deals with: -
- Registrations, assignments and renewal of trademarks and registered user agreements for local and overseas clients.
- Advising on all aspects of intellectual property law.
- The general protection of intellectual property rights.
- Registration of patents under the Industrial Property Act 2001 Of Kenya, the Patent Co-operation Treaty (“PCT”) and the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization Protocol (“ARIPO”).
- Registration of industrial designs.
- Payment of annual maintenance fees on behalf of clients.
- Liaising with the Kenya Industrial Property Institute (KIPI) to facilitate speedy processing of client’s application.
Franchising:
We advise on franchise agreements in particular regulatory issues and tax implications and generally negotiate and draft such agreements.
